Make the most of 4 hours in Manly

Spending half day in Manly? We have an itinerary of things to do if you only have 4 hours to explore.

Getting to Manly on the most scenic form of public transport, the Manly Ferry. Departing every 20 minutes during the week and every 15 minutes on the weekend. Hop on the ferry at Circular Quay from Wharf 3 and it will only take half an hour to reach paradise. There is also a fast ferry that will get you here in 18 minutes, however this will not contribute to your daily opal card fare.

When you arrive, grab a coffee at one of the amazing local coffee shops. If you love almond or oat milk, a few places even make it fresh daily. Either sit in or get it take away to sit on the beach.

To see the most of Manly in a short time, hire a bike or e-bike from Manly Bike Hire. Head up to North Head to enjoy the beautiful view from the cliffs and enjoy spectacular views over Manly, the Northern Beaches, Sydney Harbour and the City of Sydney. End your bike ride at the beach and enjoy Manly Beach.

If bike riding is not your thing, get orientated with a 1 hour history and heritage tour of Manly. The tour departs at 11:15am Wednesday to Sunday. The tour costs $15 and is run by the enthusiastic staff at the Visitor Information Centre, Manly Wharf.

By the time your tour or bike ride is finished you will most likely be hungry. No visit to Manly is complete without visiting the iconic Hotel Steyne, the oldest pub in Manly located opposite Manly Beach.

At the end of your day in Manly, catch the ferry back into the City. Make sure you time your ferry ride going back at sunset, when you can get a beautiful photo of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
