Dive into a water wonderland

  1. Refresh with a dip: Dive into a series of invigorating ocean swims along the Northern Beaches this season. Mark your calendar for the Newport Pool to Peak on Sunday 5 January. The aquatic adventures continue with Blackmores Billy Swim at Bilgola on 12 January, Warriewood to Mona Vale Swim on 19 January, Whale Beach SLSC The Big Swim on 26 January, the iconic Cole Classic at Manly on 2 February and Barney Mullins Swim Classic at Freshwater on 9 February
  2. Get out on a kayak or a SUP: Discover Manly from a new angle on a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, available to hire from Manly Kayak Centre or Manly Sailing. Explore the area on your own or head out on a tour with flow mOcean and enjoy a yoga lesson at a local secluded beach.
  3. Set sail on Pittwater: Escape overnight onboard your own private French yacht with Taylor Made Escapes. Enjoy 360-degree waterfront views of Pittwater whilst relaxing on deck with a glass of your favourite bubbly. Bliss.

A stand-out includes Fairy Bower – the gorgeous triangular-shaped pool built by local residents in Manly. One of the big attractions with this pool is the Instagram-worthy sculpture ‘Oceanides’, created by Sydney sculptor Helen Leete.
  6. What lies beneath: There really is nowhere quite like the aquatic marine reserve of Cabbage Tree Bay, which is home to more than 150 different species of fish. Ring in the New Year by embarking on a guided shore dive with the professionals from Dive Centre Manly or Pro Dive Manly or opt for a captivating snorkel and headland walk with Ecotreasures.
