Donna – Yoga instructor
Donna Freak from Flow mOcean takes advantage of living with the ocean on her doorstep every day. You’ll catch her teaching kayak and stand up paddle board yoga classes on Manly’s picturesque beaches. Here’s why Donna loves calling Manly home…
What I love about Manly…
…there’s adventure all around you. You’ve got hiking on one side and then beautiful beaches on the other. There is also something about the vibe – it’s the people that give Manly a sense of adventure and playfulness.
One of my favourite spots in Manly…
…is Fairy Bower between Shelly and Manly Beach. We like to call it the Mediterranean. On a beautiful sunny day, you’ve got these rocks moving out into the water, dogs frolicking around, locals enjoying the sunshine and a chance to do some snorkelling and scuba diving.
My hidden gem in Manly is…
…I’m going to give away a big secret here. My favourite spot is Collins Flat Beach – I call it a secret beach. It’s in a national park with crystal clear water and a tiny waterfall behind it. It’s great to kayak to and you can also join us for yoga.
My go-to spot to grab a coffee…
…I love to pick up a chai at The Bower Manly. The cafe sits overlooking the water and you can see the Bower surf break at the same time. That’s my fav.
Top 3 must-dos for visitors to Manly…
- Take a walk to Shelly Beach along the promenade
- Walk up to North Head – there are so many great trails and it’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset
- Jump in and have a surf, or do SUP (stand-up paddle) yoga to try something new!
A day off in Manly for me looks like…
…going for a surf, taking a SUP out at Manly Cove and doing some yoga at any of the beautiful beaches in Manly.
