Workshop: Cyanotype Printing with Bella La Spina
Join contemporary printmaker, Bella La spina for a two-part workshop over two days exploring cyanotypes – camera-less photographic printmaking.
Experiment with the magical process of using sunlight to create hand-made images with botanicals and photo negatives. Learn about the photographic printmaking techniques of cyanotypes and salt printing, including toning the prints using surprising items you can find in your own pantry.
Drawing on her own practice, Bella will guide students to create works printing on both paper and a range of fabrics. Participants are invited to bring some botanical material from the garden and personal objects to incorporate into making a series of beautiful, unique artworks.
Students will leave with the confidence to explore the potential of printing with UV light further!
