Manly Writers’ Festival 2025

The Manly Writers’ Festival returns for its second annual celebration from Friday, 28th March to Sunday, 30th March 2025. Set in the stunning coastal surroundings of Manly and Brookvale, this three-day literary festival will bring together more than 125 writers, academics, journalists, and creatives across 50+ events.

The festival is a hub for ideas, inspiration, and storytelling, covering an array of topics, including social media and AI, cooking, music, sport, mental health, history, politics, true crime, and contemporary fiction. Award-winning author Blanche d’Alpuget will launch her latest novel on the festival’s opening night, offering a highlight for literary fans.

Among the esteemed guests, Damian Collins OBE, former UK Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy, will discuss his biography of David Lloyd George and take part in an essential conversation on social media and AI alongside Julie Inman-Grant, Australia’s e-Safety Commissioner.

Saturday night will feature a Charity Literary Trivia Night in support of the Northern Beaches Community Cancer Charity (NBCCC). Hosted by Murray Shaw (Nine Network) and quizmaster Kate Grant (Mackellar Girls’ High School), this event promises an evening of fun and fundraising.

On Sunday, the festival moves to the Manly Golf Club for a day of discussions on Australian culture, music, and sport. The weekend will culminate in a special Chairman’s Lounge experience with Joe Aston.

With the generous support of The TAG Family Foundation, Fair Play Publishing, Northern Beaches Council, and Gleebooks as the official book retailer, the festival continues to grow as a major cultural event.
