Bilgola Beach
Bilgola Beach is a stunning quiet surf beach that is 500 metres long, faces south east and is bordered by a high headland, Bilgola Head to the north and the lower, shaley Newport Head and rocks to the south.
The beach has a single sand bar cut by two shifting beach rips and permanent rips which can be treacherous, against the rocks at each end. On weekends and public holidays the beach is patrolled by lifeguards so make sure you swim between the yellow and red flags.
For a safer experience, there is a rockpool located at the southern end of Bilgola Beach. The rockpool is an eight lane, 50 metre pool with concrete walls and floor. and disability access. Change rooms and toilets are available. Access is from the carpark area off The Serpentine where Pay and display parking is available. A kiosk is located opposite the surf club which serves wraps, burgers, coffee and cakes.
