These two gargoyles and sandstone wall are all that remain of the
1882 residence, Marinella, also known as Dalley’s Castle, built by
William Bede Dalley, lawyer and statesman. Dalley only lived there
for about three years. In 1939 the house was demolished and the
existing flats, also named Marinella, were built.
