On 10 October 2026, they are bringing new life to a building that holds a real place in Australian military history, right in North Head Sanctuary.
Their three premium indoor courts sit inside Building 17: a 1930s Art Deco gymnasium built for the Australian Army. For half a century, this was home to the School of Artillery. Soldiers ran their drills on these floors, played sport here, blew off steam there. Then in 1998 the army moved on, and the hall fell quiet.
So when you play there, you’re playing on the very same floor where generations of Australian soldiers once trained. That’s pretty special: a building made for sport, coming full circle to being a building made for sport once more.
On 10 October, Building 17 comes back to life.
Three indoor courts within the original Heritage Gymnasium, transformed into pickleball heaven: three championship-size Laykold indoor courts, two dinking and ball-machine zones, the Pro Shop, a chill-out zone for a quiet drink, and a mezzanine lounge for socialising and watching your last game back on the big screen.
Eight premium outdoor courts under the North Head sky, plus a social deck, beer garden, and tournament festival zone. They will have eleven courts in total, indoor and out, the ultimate social pickleball club, and you can be part of it from day one
