Experience a spectacular side to Manly on Sunday 6 September! Running from 10am to 2pm, North Head Sanctuary Discovery Day is a chance to engage in FREE activities while enjoying vibrant nature, scenic outlooks and historical landmarks.

There’ll be guided history and nature tours as well as pickleball, kids arts and craft, outdoor yoga and opportunities to explore historic spaces normally off limits to the public! PLUS: Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, including the iconic Australian snag.

Getting to North Head Sanctuary from Manly is easy! Walk, cycle or hop on the 161 bus at service at Manly Wharf – it runs every 30 minutes. Pre-registration is required for some Discovery Day activities. On-site parking will be limited.

About North Head Sanctuary

Located within North Head, on the Manly peninsula, North Head Sanctuary is both a scenic nature refuge and a former defence site, steeped in history. A series of dedicated paths and bike tracks guide visitors to popular landmarks. These include the Third Quarantine Cemetery, Australia’s Memorial Walk, the former Army School of Artillery, the Hanging Swamp and North Fort – a remnant artillery battery that defended Sydney’s coastline during the Second World War. North Head Sanctuary is managed and protected by the Harbour Trust.
