Your guide to waterside dining and drinking in Manly
Summer is the perfect time to dine by the water or catch up for a thirst-quenching beverage with friends. Manly has plenty of waterside options, whether you prefer oceanside or harbourside, we’ve got you covered.
Harbourside

Head south towards the harbour for spectacular sunsets, stretching out those summer afternoons until the first stars peep through. The Skiff Club at the end of East Esplanade catches the final rays on a lazy summer day. Here you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere and a good mix of sailors, locals and visitors. Sit on the over-water deck and watch the boats and ferries coming and going. At the other end of Manly Cove at Federation Point is Manly Pavilion, an upmarket restaurant offering gorgeous views across the harbour. Whether it’s a pre-dinner cocktail or a delicious meal, you won’t forget your experience here.
Down at Manly Wharf there are plenty of options to satisfy everyone. Wharf Bar is a relaxed waterside pub with access to a jetty bar. Enjoy tasty pub fare and signature cocktails that complement the beachside vibes while watching the yachts bobbing on the water in front of you.
Hugos Manly, positioned on the iconic Manly Wharf, is a Manly institution with cutting-edge cocktails to write home about and pizzas to bring the house down. Whether you stop in for bite or spend all night here, you won’t be disappointed. Next door, The Bavarian offers all the trappings of a German beer house but with the added bonus of being by the sea in Manly! It’s great for a rowdy and fun night with friends, or make some new friends over a stein or two.
For a sophisticated night out, head to Sake and experience their interactive sushi counter and sweeping harbour views from the outdoor terrace. Next door, don your sombreros and get ready for margaritas at El Camino Cantina – a fun and loud Mexican restaurant and bar. If you can take your eyes off the fabulous and eclectic décor, you will also enjoy gorgeous views across Manly Cove to the harbour and the heads.
Oceanside

Manly has several dining options that will make you feel like your toes are almost in the sand as you eat fresh and fabulous food.

If you walk east along the beachfront to Marine Parade, you’ll come to The Bower, with tables on the path overlooking Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve. Fresh, local and organic food in a homemade style will wow you almost as much as the vista. Take your time and watch the world go by. Keep walking along Marine Parade to reach The Boathouse, open for breakfast and lunch. Located right on the sands of Shelly Beach, it’s lush surrounds will relax you and the stunning fresh food is sure to impress.
Back to Manly Beach, numerous restaurants along South Steyne offer street dining across the road from the golden sands of Manly Beach, or head upstairs for spectacular ocean views.
