On a cold winter’s day there is nothing better than warming up in front of a roaring fire while sipping on a hot coffee or a glass of red wine. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a luxury country home as you settle in with a happy hour drink and French bistro-inspired food next to the warming fire at Barrenjoey House in Palm Beach. If you don’t fancy driving home, there are some gorgeous rooms in the boutique accommodation upstairs!


Battery House, Dee Why RSL

Dee Why RSL sports bar Battery House is all about catching up with friends over beers, food and sports next to a toasty fireplace. With almost 50 TVs, numerous pool tables, a pinball machine and foosball table, it’s a great spot to catch the latest sports action. On Tuesdays compete in a fun trivia night, or take on the pool sharks at the regular Monday competition. Sounds like a perfect winter night for everyone!

Sink into the big brown leather lounges next to the fireplace and enjoy a drink at this beach-chic venue where even indoors the sea scent pervades the air. The food at Dunes Restaurant is delicious and the winter menu will ensure that you are warmed up on the inside as well.

Ground Zero is very popular with Manly locals who like to snuggle up on comfy leather seats next to the cute and quaint fireplace. Come for breakfast, grab a hot chocolate and settle in with a good book if you feel like a little solo time.


Hotel Steyne

The beers are awesome, the schnitzels are crunchy and golden, the steaks are juicy and the fireplace is ready and waiting for you at Hotel Steyne, where you’ll find awesome dinner deals and a sense of Manly history in this 1859 hotel.

Step off the sand and into The Boathouse, a stunning café and restaurant located right on Shelly Beach. There is a large open central fireplace that will warm you up after a stroll or a chilly snorkel in the adjacent Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve.
