Can’t bear to leave your dog behind? Bring them with you! We understand that pets are an important part of the family and you may want to bring them along on holiday.

Many of our cafes are dog friendly, offering a bowl of water and outdoor options to keep them hydrated and happy.

To help you enjoy your holiday, we have put together a guide of where you and your pet can stay and play on the Northern Beaches.

The Northern Beaches has a wonderful variety of parks for your beloved four-legged friend to run, stretch, catch and make new friends. With 29 dog-off leash areas to meet other dog owners. Each off-leash area has its own vibe and they are very diverse, ranging from the shared use of a sportsground to full fenced dog parks and foreshore reserves.

Northern Beaches Council has a list of parks where your dog can run around off leash or simply hang out with other dogs.

During the warmer months dogs love to cool off after a long walk, so it is important to know where the closest dog beaches are. There are plenty of dog friendly beaches for you and your furry friend to swim or use some energy to run around before the end of the day. Some local favourites are Rowland Reserve, Clontarf Beach and Sandy Bay.

Manly Pacific is the only pet friendly accommodation on the Northern Beaches. They have 5 pet friendly rooms, so your 4-legged friend can also enjoy what Manly has to offer. The ocean-facing Sun-Lounger rooms come equipped with a stylish dog bed and water bowl. They also feature a 100sqm sun terrace, ideal for lounging back and basking in your own private seaside sanctuary with your pampered pooch.

There are some exemptions, so look out for signs or symbols that identify where dogs are not allowed. These are generally beaches, rock pools, water bodies, synthetic grass areas and wildlife protection areas.

Dogs are not allowed within 10 metres of a playground or a BBQ / human food consumption area. Please be mindful that not all dogs are suited to an off-leash area.

Some can become overwhelmed by the other dogs and their activities. You can find out more about each off-leash area from the Northern Beaches Council website.
