Live Like a Local Northern Beaches terms and conditions
Northern Beaches Council (Council) aims to promote the Northern Beaches area as an extraordinary place for people to live, visit, dine and play.
While there are a wealth of beautiful natural places in our area, we also have many wonderful places to eat and drink and incredible experiences to enjoy which are loved by locals and visitors alike. All you need to do to find the best avo on toast, live music on a Sunday, or best cocktail, is to speak to the locals!
To help you and our visitors Live Like a Local, Council is publishing articles on local restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, clubs, and tourism experiences recommended by locals as their “favourite spots”. The articles will be published on Council’s Hello Manly website.
You are welcome to make a submission about your favourite local spot to eat/drink/play on the Northern Beaches on the following conditions:
- Your favourite local spot must be located within our local government area
- Your favourite local spot must be either: a bookable tourist experience (examples include kayaking or a yoga class), a café, restaurant, bar, pub, club or retail food outlet, or a combination of these, which is open to the general public
- To ensure that we only publish genuine local tips, you must be a genuine customer of the business you are recommending and not the business owner, related to the business owner or receiving any financial or in kind benefit from the business owner by promoting their business
- You must not be a current employee of Northern Beaches Council
- Submissions which contain defamatory, derogatory, offensive or otherwise inappropriate statements will not be published
- Council may in its absolute discretion determine not to publish a submission for any reason.
A favourite local spot submission will not be published if it:
- could conflict with Council’s values, policies or statutory responsibilities
- promotes politicians or political parties
- contains statements which are deemed by Council to be defamatory, derogatory, offensive or not in keeping with the spirit of Council’s Live Like a Local campaign
- involves the manufacture, distribution and sale of tobacco and tobacco-related products
- contains statements that Council determines are likely to adversely affect Council’s reputation.
Assessment
Council will review each local favourite spot submission according to these terms and conditions and Council reserves the right to edit or decline any submission.
By publishing a submission on a favourite local spot, Council is not endorsing the business or the business’ products or services. Council does not verify the accuracy of any submission and does not accept any responsibility for any loss or inconvenience suffered as a result of inaccurate information contained in a published submission
