YHA Pittwater Eco

YHA Pittwater is nestled on the hillside of Morning Bay in Ku-ring-gai National Park, surrounded by bushland and is only accessible by ferry. Across from the likes of Newport and Clareville on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, this hostel is the perfect escape from the city without having to leave Sydney. The property is the smallest of the YHA collection but there is a great choice in rooms, self-catering kitchen, and cosy lounge with a fireplace for those cool winter days. There is also a large deck that allows guests to look over the beautiful Pittwater.
As the longest standing YHA, being open for 52 years, they have had three sets of management. Katie and Bergia are incredibly warm hosts and are always around to help and provide advice to visitors. Although it is a beacon of relaxation, there is something for everyone. If guests want to be adventurous during their stay they can kayak around the bay, go on bushwalks and see all the native animals in the area such as native birds, wallabies, possums, and goannas. Those wanting rejuvenation can rest up with a book and listen to nature or even have the option work remotely for a few days.
A big focus for the hostel is environmental sustainability. Due to their remote location, the property works alongside nature in as many ways as possible and is hosted by Pittwater Eco Adventures. They have an Indigenous partnership in place to propagate and replenish some of the native species that have been lost. They give the option for guests to have free access to kayaks if they take part in the bush regeneration during their stay
