Brookvale is home to a number of fantastic craft breweries, a gin/whiskey distillery and a thriving café culture with some of the best coffee roasters on the Northern Beaches. You’ll find juicy burger and pizza places, award winning pies and all of which you can wash down with a pint of Brookie’s finest craft beer.

Learn how to throw an axe

There is truly no better way to de-stress than flinging an axe as hard as you can, with your family and friends cheering you on. At Kiss My Axe you can have hours of axe throwing fun under the guidance of an expert trainer.

Enjoy a local brewery and/or distillery

When it comes to distilleries and breweries, Brookvale has plenty of options. Why not book yourself and a group of friends on a gin or whisky tour at Manly Spirits, where your friendly and knowledgeable spirit guide will give you the opportunity to touch, taste and smell their raw ingredients. You can learn about Australian botanicals and the history of gin.

Seadrift Distillery which is Australia’s first non-alcoholic brewery 100% Spirit, 0% Alcohol. Book a tour of the distillery, meet Alastair the master distiller, learn about the process, and taste both spirits and delicious cocktails.

If beer is more your style, join one of 4 Pines Truck Bar’s passionate beer lovers for an introduction to all things beer and brewing. Included in the tour are five tastings of their award winning beer.

Other breweries to check out are Bucketty’s Brewing Co., Nomads Brewing Co., Dad and Dave’s Brewery, Broken Bay BrewingFreshwater Brewing Company and 7th Day Brewery. They have tasting rooms where you can enjoy a selection of their beers right next to where it is made.

Explore Allenby Park

Discover one of the Northern Beaches best-kept secrets, Allenby Park. You’ll forget you’re in Sydney as you slip into this tranquil stunning pocket of natural bush. Picturesque waterfalls, mossy boulders and panoramic views of the coast await!

Watch a game of footy

Brookvale is home to the area’s rugby league team, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. If you are visiting the area between the months of March and October, you will be able to watch an NRL game played on their home ground at 4 Pines Park ( Brookvale Oval). Shop till you drop

Westfield Warringah Shopping Mall has 270 stores as well as a large variety of casual dining options making it a great spot to shop, eat or just hang out, especially on a rainy day. Brookvale has three of the biggest op shops on the Northern Beaches, a great spot to pick up a real bargain.

Go indoor rock climbing

Indoor rock climbing is a fun family friendly activity and is also a great way to get fit. Rockhouse is located in the back streets of Brookvale and has 37 individual top rope routes. They change the routes weekly to keep you on your toes.

Dance the night away

LABEL Sydney is an exciting new warehouse-style space located in Brookvale and is the best place on the Northern Beaches to experience live and electronic music.

Barrel One Coffee Roasters serve ethically sourced coffee in a New York-style café and offer a mouth-watering Reuben sandwich that rivals those found in New York delis.

Watch your coffee being roasted at Nine Yards Roastery and Café. Try something from their all-day menu of treats baked inhouse, with Sydney’s favourite café classics, alongside special dishes curated by their chefs.

Behind a bright red roller door is Coffee Supreme, where the coffee menu is extensive and the food menu is to die for. Be sure to try their breakfast burrito or toasties for a breakfast that will have you coming back for more.

Flower Child is a secret garden sanctuary situated in the middle of Warringah Mall. It is known for serving tasty breakfast, brunch and lunch. Rest assured you won’t go hungry on your shopping trip.

If you like an organic breakfast, try the bowl of maple muesli and green smoothie topped with fig and banana at Fuel Espresso Bar.

Originals Burger Co. in Brookvale is definately worth a visit. Their chilli beef burger is a fan favourite and their loaded fries should not be missed.

What goes better with a beer than a pizza? Sale Pepe Pizzeria is located right next door to 7th Day Brewery. They sell authentic, traditional wood fired pizza and cuisine in a relaxed setting, for you to enjoy the company of family and friends.

One of Manly’s favourite Italian restaurants Pocket Pizza, has opened a sister store on the streets of Brookvale. They are serving up all the favourites, including margherita pizza with vodka sauce or the popular truffle mushroom Funghitown pizza that shouldn’t be missed.

Some local favourites include Black Kitchen,  Brookvale Chinese, Berkelo Bakery and Brooky Pies.
