There are a couple of swimming spots here, both of them quite small on tiny ribbons of sand. A swimming enclosure on the northern side of Pickering Point accessible via Gurney Crescent. Sangrado Pool is located at the end of Sangrado Street alongside the boatshed at Seaforth Sailing Club.

Walk the Garigal National Park

Garigal National Park sits on the northern border of Seaforth. There are a maze of fire trails and walking tracks providing fantastic views across the bushland to the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour. Hikers will discover native flora and fauna (including the threatened southern brown bandicoot), significant Aboriginal sites and historic places along the way. You can retrace Governor Phillip’s steps along the heritage walk to Bungaroo, where he camped for two nights on his first expedition in 1788.

There are several rockpools along the way, making it the ideal escape for a day trip or picnic. You can also discover Garigal National Park on your mountain bike, following one of the challenging fire trails. The park is also great for boating, canoeing and fishing along tranquil Middle Harbour Creek.

Spend the day at Sangrado Park

Sangrado Park is a triangular waterside nature reserve on Peach Tree Bay, Middle Harbour. The walking path to Sangrado saltwater pool holds a special surprise – a picturesque waterfall in a pocket of rainforest. There is also a playground and open grassed area at the top of the reserve.

Enjoy Pickering Point

Pickering Point Baths on Middle Harbour are an idyllic place for a dip on a hot afternoon. The walk down to the 12m square shark-netted baths takes you through waterside bush and steeply winding streets. High tide is the best time to visit these baths.
