Dog Friendly walks on the Northern Beaches

Dogs need somewhere to stretch their legs and burn off some energy. You’ll find dog friendly walks and off-leash parks over the Northern Beaches and a couple of great dog beaches along the way.

There are some exemptions, so look out for signs or symbols that identify where dogs are not allowed. These are generally beaches, rock pools, water bodies, synthetic grass areas and wildlife protection areas.

Dogs are not allowed within 10 metres of a playground or a BBQ / human food consumption area. Please be mindful that not all dogs are suited to an off-leash area.

Some can become overwhelmed by the other dogs and their activities. You can find out more about each off-leash area from the Northern Beaches Council website.

There is a reason the locals love this walk around Long Reef headland, the views from the top make the whole walk worth it.
