Free Tour of St Mathews Manly
A half an hour history tour of St Matthews Manly church on the Corso, informal, fun and free.
An informative and entertaining free tour inside the Anglican church on the Corso. Discover why the church building was moved a few metres back from its site and why the rector racked up a huge laundry bill in the 1940s. Examine Medieval artefacts, learn about the stained glass windows, symphonic organ and some of the characters connected to the church over its 159 years history. Local journalist Kathryn Welling presents this fun tour and explains why the church is also known as the church of the open door. Plus, there is the opportunity to ring the bell in the bell tower!
The tour runs on the 4th Sunday of the month from noon until 12.30pm. Call the church office on 9977 6249 for more information or just turn up. Email is mail@stmattsmanly.org.au.
