There is so much more to Manly than just a beach… here’s some super cool ideas for a rainy day in Manly, Sydney Australia!
Experience art and culture at the Manly Art Gallery & Museum. They have awesome exhibits which they change up every month, and are just a two-minute walk from the wharf. Or wander through some of the back streets to discover some other local art galleries that are scattered throughout Manly.
Manly’s first and only Escape Room, Room Eight is a great way to hide away from the rain and escape to another time. Grab some friends and choose from one of the three different rooms and use all your senses to try escape the room within the hour.
And of course there’s shopping. The Corso provides heaps of different stores so you can enjoy yourself and have an easy shopping day.
You’re getting wet anyway, so why not enjoy it… learn to surf with the Manly Surf School? Or, rent a kayak or paddle board and get out and spend the day on the water. This way you can at least say you spent the day truly at Manly Beach!
Obviously, this list wouldn’t be complete without noting a visit to one of Manly’s 150 delicious restaurants and cafes. Enjoy your lunch and watch the rain go by with the beautiful scenery at a local’s favourite lunch spot- Hugo’s, Sea Salt Society, Belgrave Cartel or Garfish are some of our recommendations.
Manly also has a great selection of pubs and bars, check out our Happy hour list for some inspiration.
And, for the beer lovers, we suggest a brewery tour at Manly’s very own award winning micro brewery, 4 Pines, where beers are handcrafted on site. The tour runs at 12.30pm Monday-Friday and includes a yummy beer tasting pack.
