PRO DIVE Manly is perfectly positioned in one of Sydney's most beautiful aquatic marine areas. Manly has countless dive spots to excite any level of diver. Our office is conveniently located just minutes from the famous Manly Beach and a short, flat stroll from Manly Wharf.

On the southern end of Manly Beach we have Shelly Beach, just as famous as Manly Beach in its own right. Shelly Beach plays host to a beautiful aquatic reserve teaming with marine life.

Some of the most beautiful marine photographs have been snapped in Manly where under water photographers love to dive as a result of this variety of marine biodiversity.

Diving Sydney
The scuba diving in Sydney is temperate water diving with an influence of our warmer tropical water to our North. We have a wide variety of marine life including the worlds largest cuttle fish up 1.5 meters in length, Weedy Sea Dragons, the world's largest Seahorse, Blue Gropers, Grey Nurse Sharks, Wobbegong sharks and a host of other marine life. We also offer the most extensive range of dive sites diving the most northern and southern areas of Sydney.

 

 

The boat 
Our state-of-the-art 43ft Steber dive boat 'SEALIFE V' offers a outstanding level of service and comfort. 'SEALIFE V' carries a full range of dive equipment to cater for 20 Divers. Onboard facilities include twin hot showers, galley, toilet, a massive diving deck, dual ladders, comfortable undercover seating and twin 430hp diesel engines to get you effortlessly to and from the dive sites.

Our Double boat dives are both an economical and enjoyable experience, regardless of the time of the year or weather conditions. 

 

 

What else do you need to know?

  • Openwater Diver is the minimum certification required on most dives. We do nominate the certification level on our boat dive schedule
  • PRO DIVE provide a full dive site briefing. If you are a single diver, we will have a dive buddy on board for you.  we do offer an in water dive guide service for those who need it. If you would like to dive with a dive guide, please make a note in the comments field on the booking form.
  • We have one camera for hire on board.  This can be pre-booked for $40
  • All dives are weather dependent
  • To check availability . By Selecting the Book Now Button you can check availability as well as book yourself on. You will also be able to see at a glance if a particular departure date is full - it is marked in Red, or if we have either limited or plenty of availability -  it is marked in Yellow or Green

    DIVE SITES- Not only will you now be able to find out more about the sites we dive, there is an additional tab which enables you to see when these dives are scheduled.

Details :

Our Week Day Open Water Course is completed over three consecutive days. Starting Every Monday and Wednesday*, the Openwater scuba diving course is a combination of Online theory, pool and open ocean dives. You will be trained to dive to a depth of 18 metres and issued with your Openwater Scuba Diver certification which is recognised worldwide.

*Wednesday starts not available from May to November

Prior to starting the course you will need to complete your theory online which will take approximately 6-7 hours to complete. You will be required to complete a theory exam. It is also a requirement that you are able to swim 200 metres (without stopping) and tread water for 10 minutes. You may use any technique to complete this swim and there is no time limit. The practical skills of diving are then covered and practised in the comfort of the pool.

To further your skills there are 4 open water training dives. During these ocean dives, you will repeat some of the skills learned in the pool plus additional practical skills to ensure that you are competent Open Water scuba diver.  When you have successfully completed all theory and practical sessions, your instructor will sign your log book and student record file. You will then become a certified Scuba Diver. Your certification will be recognised worldwide.

You must be considered fit to dive to complete an Openwater Course and may require a dive medical. Click here to fill out our online medical form to determine if you are Fit to Dive or if you require a Dive Medical.

Your ELearning must be completed online prior to the course commencement. Please allow approximately 6-7 Hours  to complete the  ELearning

How to Register for SSI E Learning:  

  • Instructions will be provided on the voucher issued to the client

Swimming

  • You need to complete swim a 200 metres (unassisted and continuous) and Float for 10 minutes test. If you are unable to complete this test on the course, then you will not be able to continue.

Fitness to Dive

  • You MUST review Dive Medical Requirements and Fitness to Dive information the  prior to the commencement of the course

  • The instructor always has final say as to whether a dive medical is needed.

What you need to bring

  • You need to bring sunscreen, Swimming costume/bathing suit and a towel, some lunch or pocket money to buy some lunch.

Students under the age of 18 years

  • The minimum age is 12 years.
  • All students under 18 years of age will be required their parent/guardian to come into the dive centre prior to the course watch a video and sign parent or guardian consent form
  • Children 15 years or older, though not necessarily needing a dive medical, will still need a parent or guardian to sign their medical questionnaire.
  • Children between the ages of 12 and 14 years will be trained to dive a depth of 12 metres and will qualify as Junior Open Water Divers.

We run these weekly all year round, but note the requirement and conditions of the booking. The price is a bargain and there are conditions on this.

Terms and conditions

The minimum age of learning to dive is 12, however we need any student under 15 to come into the store when making a booking to ensure that we have gear sizing that will fit them. Under 18s must be have a parental waiver signed by parent/guardian and will need to attended on the first day of the course. You have up to 7 days prior to your booked start date to cancel and receive refund less $100.00 fee. Course can be transferred once to another date within the validity period with at least 7 days notice, subject to availability at no charge. If your new start date is at a higher price you will need to pay the difference and if less an instore credit will be offered. Courses transferred within 7 days’  for any reason is subject to availability and a $100 fee per booking. If the new start date is at a higher price you will need to pay the difference as well and if less, an instore credit will be offered Participants must complete SSI home E-Learning prior to commencing their course Participants must be water-comfortable and be able to complete the following tests; swim 200 meters continuously and Tread water / Float for 10 minutes. Failure to complete this test means that you will not be able to continue on the course. Any booking for a new start date due to failing these tests will be at full cost, less $100. Some medical conditions may require a doctor's clearance prior to participation. Please visit https://www.prodive.com.au/Scuba_Dive_Medicals  to see if you need to get a dive medical done. If required the Dive Medical must be completed 7 days prior to the course start, otherwise no refund will be issued. This gives us the opportunity to fill your spot. If you do not present yourself on the start day of the programme for any reason, there is no refund. If you present yourself to the course and have not completed the online theory your booking is cancelled.Any booking for a new start date due to failing these tests will be at full cost, less $100. Once the course has started and you are unable to complete the course for any reason, there is no refund on any portion of the program. You have to complete the course on the dates stated on the schedule, pre-booking parts of the course or program is not possible. If you are late on any of the course days, you will not be allowed to join the group for the remainder of the course or program. To rebook or a new start date due to failing these tests will be at full cost, less $100.
