There is always plenty to see and do in Manly, no matter what your interests are. Water activites abound, as well as art & cuture, sporting activities and of course there are plenty of attractions and activities for the kids as well. Manly Beach itself is a magical playground for everyone.
Q Station is a historical site located on Manly’s North Head.
From the 1830’s to 1984 migrant ships transporting people with suspected contagious diseases anchored to offload passengers and crew into quarantine to protect the local residents of Sydney from the threat of infection.
Set on 30 hectares of national park land, our 65 heritage buildings have been creatively repurposed as hotel accommodation, two restaurants, a café, museum and function rooms for conferences, weddings and events.
Q Station has been running tours since the 1990s dedicated to both education and adventure. Join a History Tour to learn about Sydney’s former Quarantine Station – the people who lived, worked and died here, as well as the old buildings and medical practices. The Wharf Wander History Tour runs daily at 11am for 45minutes; and both 11am and 4:30pm on weekends. Our more in-depth History Tour, Quarantine Station Story, runs from 2pm every Saturday & Sunday for two hours.
If you’re seeking more of an adrenaline rush, our Ghost Tours are for you! Wildly popular, Q Station Ghost Tours run every night of the week. The standard Ghostly Encounters Tour runs each night from 8pm for 2.5 hours as your guide takes you through all the old buildings like the morgue, the shower block, hospital and former graveyards. For families, the Ghost Trackers Tour teaches children about Ghosts and why we believe the former Quarantine Station is haunted. For the more intense thrill-seekers, an Extreme Ghost Tour or Ghostly Sleepover might be for you!
